A National J&J Tour for Novice to Advanced Level Dancers!
Welcome to the next evolution in J&J contests...the J&J tournament!!!! Events across the country are getting involved in this exciting new format. Partnering with GlobalDance.tv these events will be broadcast on the internet featuring the Golden Ticket Tour.
Each event on the tour will serve as a qualifier to get to the finals to be held at the US Open. At each event a prelims will be run as a luck of the draw contest. The top 16 leaders and followers will advance to the finals at the qualifier location. The finals will be held as a tournament.
In the tournament (qualifier finals) new partners will be randomly assigned and seeded (ranked).
Then two couples at a time will dance against each other and will be judged immediately following their dance. One couple advances, one couple eliminated. Starting with 16 couples, ending with one winning couple!
The winners at the qualifier location will receive tickets and travel vouchers for the US Open where they will draw their partners from a list of participating professionals and all-stars to compete for the top prize money. Minimum guaranteed prizes are estimated at $6,000.
Once you win a qualifier, you can no longer compete in any other qualifiers.
Dancer level will be determined by following the World Swing Dance Council Guidelines. This, however, is not a a World Swing Dance Council Sanctioned J&J.
You must be advanced or lower at the time of the Qualifier Event.
